Evgeniy Petrovich Rott is one of the patriarchs of Kazakh football. He is one of the founders of the Zhambyl school of football, thanks to him football in this region stood firmly on its feet and took a leading place in the republic.
In 1966, Evgeny Petrovich Rott created a truly systematic school in Zhambyl, from which Evgeniy Kuznetsov, Vait Talgayev, Viktor Katkov, Seilda Baishakov, Dmitriy Ogay, Vakhid Massudov, Anton Shokh, Anatoliy Belskiy, Oleg Litvinenko and others graduated, for which he was awarded the title of Honored Trainer of the KazSSR and Honored Teacher of Kazakhstan.
Evgeniy became acquainted with football as a child, when he attended football matches with the participation of city teams. In 1936, he began playing for the newly formed youth team Spartak as a right winger. After graduating from high school, he entered the Ashgabat College of Physical Education, where he played for the football, basketball and volleyball teams, and had success in the boxing ring. During football training, he sometimes stood in goal, subsequently playing in one match in this position, and never took off his goalkeeper gloves until the end of his football career.
After graduating from college, he returned to Zhambyl and became the first certified coach and player of the Lokomotiv team. Played for her before being called up for military service. In the army he began playing for the division team, and then received an invitation to Dynamo Baku, where he made his debut in the USSR Major League in a match against Spartak Yerevan.
In 1941 he went to the front and was repeatedly awarded military awards For Bravery, For Defense of the Caucasus, as well as the Order of the Patriotic War of the second degree and others. Returned home after being wounded.
Won the first post-war championship of the republic as part of Lokomotiv, and the next year the team defended the title. He played for the national teams of the Kazakh SSR in various sports.
In 1948, Evgeniy Petrovich’s pupils became champions of the republic among youth teams. After which he received an invitation to the team of masters of the Spartak Almaty, but soon returned home, where he played and worked with the young players of the Dynamo Zhambyl, which won the KazSSR Cup in 1950. In 1954, he finished his playing career and entered the Kazakh Institute of Physical Education in Almaty.
Having successfully graduated from the institute, he created a new team Metalist from his pupils. In 1961, the team received the right to compete in the USSR Championship among class B teams. For two years, Evgeniy Petrovich worked with a team of masters, and then focused on working with children, involving children from an orphanage.
From 1966 until his retirement, Evgeniy Petrovich worked in the specialized football school he created. While retired, he did not leave the sports life of the city, advising the coaches of FC Taraz. The work to which Evgeniy Petrovich devoted his entire life continues to live successfully today, giving our football such talents as: Bauyrzhan Islamkhan, Bakhtiyor Zainutdinov, Yerkebulan Seydakhmet, Bauyrzhan Baitana and others.
