Borussia Coach Denis Hauswald After QJL All Star: "The Atmosphere Was Magnificent"

The head coach of Borussia Mönchengladbach, Denis Hauswald, summed up the QJL All Star match, which ended with a victory for the Kazakh team in a post-match penalty shootout.

– This was definitely a very intensive and high-level match. My boys handled the pressure very well and put up a worthy fight against the opponent—even though they were a year younger.

In the final minutes, we needed to be more clinical in finishing off certain chances. Of course, it would have been great for the spectators to see some goals, but both teams refused to back down.

Leaving aside the penalty shootout—which matters very little to me—I want to say that we put on a truly good performance.

The atmosphere at the match was, of course, magnificent. It was a great pleasure to play in front of such a crowd, especially under the floodlights. We enjoyed it immensely. During the match itself, you shut it out, but before the opening whistle, you could feel it vividly, and it was truly something special.

Many of the QJL All Star players represent the national team of Kazakhstan, so we were familiar with their qualities. I think we prepared well, and overall, everything on the pitch went exactly as we expected.

Undoubtedly, this match will help us prepare for the new season; for us, it was an excellent test at this stage of pre-season. The opponent thoroughly tested us both physically and in terms of game intensity, yet we still managed to find good solutions when on the ball.

Therefore, the trip to Kazakhstan was highly beneficial for us, and this match was a great conclusion to an incredible journey.
