We bring you the main highlights of Matchweek 11 in the Freedom QJ League W.
An Unexpected Result from Kairat
The Almaty team won again, but the scoreline in the match against Ordabasy was surprising – for the first time this season, the Yellow-Blacks scored only one goal.
Oksana Nikitchenko brought victory to her team, breaking through Sabina Usen’s goal in the 7th minute. Kairat’s attacking line couldn’t produce anything more, but that was enough for a positive result.
Kairat, usually dominant in every round, secured their second straight narrow win. However, Oksana Kokhanna’s team has already practically guaranteed the championship – it is highly likely to be officially sealed next matchweek.
Irtysh Crushes Astana’s Hopes
The Pavlodar side managed to win in Kazakhstan’s capital. Although Alziya Zhambyl opened the scoring in the 28th minute,
Irtysh responded with four goals – doubles from Aisana Akhmediyan and Elizaveta Medvedeva. Asyl Pazyl pulled one back, but it didn’t change much – Astana lost 2:4.
Now the capital club’s task is only to secure silver medals – the gold remains within reach only theoretically.
Goal Fest in Taldykorgan
Zhetysu and Shakhter produced an extremely eventful match, scoring 16 goals combined. Eleven of them belonged to the Karaganda side. The standout performers in this rout for the “Cinderellas” were Damira Maksat (3 goals, 2 assists) and Renata Yusupova (2+2).
As for Zhetysu, their main hero was Nuray Bolatova, who scored a hat-trick and added an assist. Balzhan Tolemis and Nuray Baktyslan also found the net.
Five Teams in the Bronze Medal Race
Tobol and Aktobe played out a draw – Assel Sanat’s goal was neutralized by Anastasia Melnikova’s own goal.
With three rounds remaining, the battle for third place remains unpredictable – Irtysh, Shakhter, Tobol, Ordabasy, and Aktobe are still in contention. Only three points separate the first and last teams on this list – the season finale promises to be exciting.
