Matchweek 5 of the Freedom QJ League B has come to a close. Here are the most exciting moments from the weekend.
Thriller in Shymkent
Ontustik and Kyzylzhar delivered an intense and action-packed game, with the home side narrowly avoiding defeat in the dying seconds.
Kyzylzhar opened the scoring in the 3rd minute through Ivan Volgin, assisted by Islan Itikeyev. However, an own goal by Nikita Gorbachev in the 7th minute leveled the score, and in the 25th minute Dias Ibadulla gave the hosts the lead.
Soon after, Ontustik were reduced to ten men as Temirlan Yermek was shown a red card. Itikeyev then completed a brace within six minutes, but in the 67th minute Shymkent forward Alihan Ali equalized. Five minutes later, Adilkhan Amanzhol restored the lead for Kyzylzhar, only for Oralhan Kulmurat to bring it back to 4–4 in the final seconds of regular time.
Kulmurat was later sent off for a reckless challenge in added time. The match saw a total of 12 cards issued.
Ontustik remain in pursuit of KFF Academy, trailing the league leaders by two points. Kyzylzhar currently sit in 6th place.
Late Rescue by Zhenis
Taldykorgan’s Zhetysu and Astana’s Zhenis couldn’t find the net for almost the entire match — it seemed destined to end goalless. But in stoppage time, Astana forward Akbar Tuganbayev scored the winner, marking his first-ever goal in the Freedom QJ League.
With this win, Zhenis now have 7 points from 5 games and sit in 7th place, while Zhetysu remain 9th with 4 points.
Kalymzhanov and Ali Lead the Golden Boot Race
Tamirlan Kalymzhanov, midfielder of Okzhetpes, netted the winner in their 3–2 away victory over Ulytau, taking his goal tally for the season to seven — the highest in the league. He is joined at the top by Alihan Ali of Ontustik, who also has seven goals and, with two assists, leads the goal + assist chart as well (7+2). Kalymzhanov follows with a 7+1 contribution.
Right behind them is Oralhan Kulmurat, who saved Ontustik from defeat — he has scored five goals in five matchweeks.
