It seems the June exam break gave the young footballers a fresh boost of energy – Matchweek VII of the Freedom QJ League was packed with standout individual performances.
Three players in particular delivered fantasy gold, racking up major points for those who included them in their Fantasy QJ League squads over the weekend. To mark the occasion, we present the top five highest-scoring performances in the fantasy league across the first seven matchweeks.
Maksat Abrayev, Astana – 25 points
When: Matchweek VII, vs Kaisar (10:0)
Just after the June break, Maksat Abrayev was crowned champion of the League’s e-tournament, avenging his loss from the previous year. Now the forward has thrilled fantasy managers too – a four-goal haul, two assists, and ten successful dribbles against the Kyzylorda side earned him 25 fantasy points.
For comparison, Abrayev had collected just 28 points over the first six matchweeks combined – it’ll be interesting to see if he can maintain this explosive form.
Naiman Satenov, Shakhtyor – 23 points
When: Matchweek VII, vs Irtysh (4:3)
Satenov went into the break on a high note, having recorded a goal and two assists – but his post-break performance was even more spectacular.
A match-winning four-goal haul, even with penalties, is still a poker – and Naiman delivered 23 points to all fantasy managers who put their faith in him (20 for the goals, 4 for minutes played, plus 10 recoveries and tackles). Attentive readers may notice one point missing – that’s due to a yellow card.
Ruslan Rakhmetov, Irtysh – 21 points
When: Matchweek I, vs Aktobe (7:2)
Despite Irtysh’s recent loss to Shakhtyor, Rakhmetov still had a strong showing this past weekend – a brace and 12 fantasy points, more than he earned in the previous three matchweeks combined.
Still, his standout moment came right at the start of the season – in Matchweek I, he netted a hat-trick, provided two assists, and completed six dribbles. Even with a hefty three-point deduction for a yellow card and a missed penalty, Ruslan’s explosive opener secures his spot on this list.
Ruslan Valikhan, Astana – 20 points
When: Matchweek VII, vs Kaisar (10:0)
For Ruslan – and everyone who included him in their fantasy lineup – the match against Kaisar was a true breakout performance. Three goals, one assist, and five dribbles helped Valikhan secure his place among the top performers.
Before this, the Astana player had never scored more than six fantasy points in a single game. What can we expect from Ruslan next?
Abylay Toleukhan, Kairat – 18 points
When: Matchweek VII, vs Ordabasy (8:3)
With 84 points over seven matchweeks, Toleukhan leads the fantasy league’s overall MVP standings, yet he only ranks fifth on this list – a testament to his consistency rather than one-off brilliance.
His contribution to the win over Ordabasy came in the form of a hat-trick and six successful dribbles – his personal best in fantasy points. Interestingly, he’s scored fewer than 11 points only once this season – something fantasy managers should keep in mind heading into the next matchweek.
The best lineup of Matchweek VII earned its manager a record-breaking 143 points. A key factor in this success was the smart decision to name Maksat Abrayev as captain – as a reminder, the virtual armband doubles a player's points.
Each matchweek’s top-performing squad is rewarded with valuable prizes from the League. At the end of the season, the overall winner will receive an iPhone 15, while the second and third place finishers will take home a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition and an Xbox Series X, respectively.
