Fire, drama and joy: the best moments from QJL All Star

Main image

Take a look at the photo highlights from the fourth Freedom QJ League All-Star Match, held on July 11 at Khan-Tengri Stadium.

“YOUR SPARK. OUR FIRE”

This phrase captures the central idea behind the concept chosen for QJL All Star 2026.

The energy of the stands meets the character of the team, and from that spark comes the pure flame of victory. Fire symbolises passion, unbreakable will and emotions at their peak – everything associated with the All-Star Match.

The fan zone design, entertainment programme and graphic identity – every element of the evening carried fiery accents to match the intense football showdown with Borussia Mönchengladbach.

FAN-FAVOURITE ENTERTAINMENT

Of course, spectators could also enjoy familiar favourites: entertainers, face painting, VR and AR attractions, photo zones and a food court. The evening’s concept could be seen in every detail.

EXCLUSIVE MERCHANDISE

As in previous years, official merchandise created for this edition of QJL All Star was available at the stadium. The COPA.KZ outlet, run by a League partner, offered match shirts, scarves and footballs.

CHANGAN KAZAKHSTAN ZONE

Another integral part of Freedom QJ League All-Star Matches was the Changan Kazakhstan zone. The brand is part of Astana Motors Group. The League’s premium partner showcased branded vehicles and a special photo stand. Consultants were also present at the match to answer guests’ questions.

THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE PROGRAMME – FIRE SHOW

Before kick-off, at half-time and after the final whistle, spectators enjoyed spectacular performances featuring real flames – something never seen before in QJL All Star history.

ENERGY FROM THE STANDS

Khan Tengri Stadium welcomed 3,055 spectators of all ages.

One of the sections was occupied by fans from Almaty, who drove QJL All Star forward with traditional chants, drums and phone-light displays.

Some of the young supporters showed handmade posters dedicated both to QJL All Star players and the visitors.

Dance Cam was activated twice on the big screen, and the fans were delighted to share their energy.

Spectators were assisted in the stands by volunteers from another League partner, UNICEF.

EXCHANGE OF GIFTS

Before kick-off, welcome speeches were delivered by Scott Mann, General Secretary of the Kazakhstan Football Federation; Uwe Kamps, member of the Borussia board of directors and legendary club goalkeeper; Denis Kolomatskiy, Distribution Director at Changan Kazakhstan; and League President Rokhus Shokh.

As a special mark of recognition for their contribution to football, two guests from Germany – Uwe Kamps and Borussia coaching staff member, European champion and World Cup runner-up Christian Ziege – were presented with traditional Kazakh shapans.

The vice-president of the Black-White-Greens received the valuable gift from Yevgeny Yarovenko. Kamps won Olympic bronze with West Germany in 1988, while the same tournament ended in gold for League ambassador Yarovenko.

TEAM CHARACTER

The match was full of emotion – despite no goals in regulation time, the action on the pitch remained intense.

FLAME OF VICTORY

A nerve-racking penalty shootout – and the long-awaited victory belonged to QJL All Star!

The players could not contain their emotions, embracing one another as they celebrated the long-awaited outcome.

The best player for the Kazakhstan side was Kairat midfielder Islam Rakym.

Borussia captain Pit Zautner received the MVP award.

Celebrations continued in the dressing room.

Another All-Star Match is now in the books – the League returns to regular competition later this week.
