Freedom QJ League will provide financial assistance to the Kazakhstani participant of the UEFA Youth League Champions Path.
The UEFA Youth League is an international tournament featuring the youth squads of UEFA Champions League clubs as well as the winners of national youth championships in the U18 category.
Since last season’s Freedom QJ League champion – Kairat Almaty – qualified for the tournament through the main team’s advancement to the UEFA Champions League group stage, the Champions Path spot was handed over to the silver medalist – Ordabasy from Shymkent.
According to the terms of the financial support program, the club representing Kazakhstan in the Champions Path of the UEFA Youth League will receive 12.5 million KZT from Freedom QJ League ahead of the first round. These funds can be used for the following purposes:
1) Improving logistics and accommodation during away trips.
2) Organizing home matches.
3) Motivational bonuses for the team staff.
An identical amount will be paid for each subsequent round of the competition. With eight rounds in the Champions Path, a club can potentially earn up to 100 million KZT in total.
Although UEFA already reimburses clubs for part of their travel and accommodation expenses, the fixed amount of those subsidies does not fully cover the actual costs. Moreover, the compensation does not include expenses for organizing home fixtures.
The Freedom QJ League initiative will allow the team to fully concentrate on football, choose the best possible conditions for players and coaching staff when planning away matches, and organize attractive marketing activities for fans at home games. With successful performances, the team can also secure well-deserved financial rewards.
If the funds provided by the League, together with UEFA’s subsidies, cover all tournament-related expenses, the club will be able to significantly save its own resources—effectively profiting both from reduced spending and from potential ticket revenues at home matches.
Ordabasy will face Dinamo Minsk (Belarus) in the opening round, with matches scheduled for September 26 and 30.
QJ League reserves the right for winning clubs to decline the proposed support system.
