The first-ever women’s Freedom QJ League tournament has come to an end. Time to sum up the season.

On the podium – Kairat, Astana, and Irtysh!

The Almaty side secured the championship title back in Round 12, but now, after defeating Tobol (3:0), they officially capped their perfect run: 14 wins in 14 matches. Goals came from Angelina Oster, Zhaniya Makhash, and Aru Yermagambetova.

The silver and bronze medalists, meanwhile, were decided only in the final round.

Irtysh defeated Aktobe in a crucial match, resolving all questions in the first half – they went into the break with goals from Elizaveta Medvedeva, Polina Arlanova, and Aisana Akhmediyan. In the second half, the “red-and-whites” pulled one back through Aliya Samat, and in the final minutes Pavlodar’s Sabina Aitchanova scored an own goal. Still, Irtysh held on – 3:2.

Had Aktobe won, they would have claimed bronze, but instead finished fifth. Ordabasy overtook them by defeating Zhetysu (6:0) – Balsezim Talipbay delivered two goals and two assists. The Taldykorgan club finished the season with zero points.

Despite the win, Irtysh could not surpass Astana. The capital team, after three straight defeats, finally secured a decisive victory in Karaganda – 4:3.

The heroine of the dramatic, high-scoring clash with Shakhtyor was Sofya Rybak – she scored twice and added an assist, inspiring a comeback from 0:2 and ensuring second place for Astana.
