Gleb Makridov, a 19-year-old midfielder of Shakhter, who was awarded the Changan MVP of the Season following the last Freedom QJ League campaign, has arrived in the capital of Spain.
As a reminder, along with the league’s top individual award, Gleb received a grant for a one-week training camp at one of Europe’s giants – Atlético Madrid.
This initiative is part of the League’s international player development program, implemented in partnership with Changan Kazakhstan, the official distributor of the Changan brand in Kazakhstan and a member of Astana Motors.
During the previous Freedom QJ League season, Makridov scored 19 goals in 19 matches for Shakhter and also provided 10 assists. Thanks to his outstanding performance, Gleb set a historic record in the League’s flagship tournament for most minutes played (4,502) and total goal contributions (39).
During the off-season, the young midfielder trained with Shakhter’s senior team and impressed, scoring two goals in friendly matches.
