We continue to introduce the individual awards presented by the League at the end of each season.
As a reminder, each award is named in honor of a prominent figure in Kazakhstani football. The award for the best forward of the season bears the name of Eduard Son.
Eduard Son is a veteran of Kazakhstani football. He began playing football in the youth development group of Shakhter Karagandy under Serik Berdalin. In 1980, he was invited to Kairat. He spent his first three seasons with the reserve team before playing for the senior side from 1983 to 1985, making 31 appearances and scoring two goals.
In 1987, he joined Dnipro. He spent four seasons with the club, becoming a Soviet champion and USSR Cup winner, as well as featuring in European competitions. In 1991, he moved to France, where he played for Gazélec and Perpignan. From 1980 to 1985, he represented the USSR at youth and U-21 level.
