Rokhus Shokh on QJL All Star: “We are building the great future of our football – bugin!”

– This football celebration is, first and foremost, for our young players and youth coaches. Everything we do here is for them.

Big events like this are nothing new for us. We’ve had sold-out stadiums in Taraz, Kyzylorda, Ust-Kamenogorsk, and Pavlodar. These are normal, but very important steps – because they bring attention to the development of youth football.

Bringing in an academy like Atlético, however, is something truly valuable. They came with seven Spanish national team players from U-15 to U-19, and six more who train with the senior squad. For our boys, this is a massive chance to test themselves.

For me personally, the result on the pitch comes second. What really matters is the celebration for fans, and the chance for our young players and coaches to try themselves at such a high level. Games like this don’t just popularize football – they give it a new impulse for growth.

All of this is made possible together: Freedom Holding Corp., the Kazakhstan Football Federation, and Timur Turlov as the main investor. I want to thank everyone.

From the very beginning, when I co-founded this project with Timur Turlov, the hardest part was assembling a team and finding experts in media, marketing, sports analytics, and management. In Kazakhstan, even my close friends told me: “What you’re planning is impossible.” It was a huge challenge.

We managed it back in 2022. It took eight months to build the team. Not a single hire was through connections – everyone came through open competition. Hundreds of resumes, dozens of interviews… That’s how we gathered young professionals from across the country, who are now writing a new chapter in Kazakhstan’s youth football.

Of course, there are envious people who think of themselves as “rulers of football.” But the majority of fans, specialists, coaches, veterans – they are with us. The players won their hearts. You’ve entered the hearts of boys and girls, their parents, grandparents, friends, even school teachers. All of Kazakhstan loves the Freedom QJ League.

The League is a project of the Kazakhstan Football Federation. Together, we are writing history and building the future of our football – today! Bugin! That is our motto.
