The Most Valuable Player of the recent Freedom QJ League U17 season was awarded to Kairat forward Roman Chernomorets.

Roman, who turned 15 only in November, delivered an outstanding season: 21 goals in 20 matches, making him the league’s top scorer. He also recorded six assists and completed 276 accurate passes out of 385 attempts (72%).

Winners of the individual awards — “Most Valuable Player,” “Best Goalkeeper,” “Best Defender,” “Best Midfielder,” and “Best Forward” — across all tournaments will each receive 200,000 tenge from the League’s partner, Freedom Bank.

“I'm filled with positive emotions, and I'm very happy to receive this award. The season went great.

My goals for next year are to win the gold medals and claim another individual trophy.

I was surprised that the award also comes with a cash prize, and by how high the level of the League is. The moment I remember most is my goal against Ordabasy. I plan to spend the prize money on myself — mainly clothes.

I wish the younger boys good luck in the upcoming season. The first year will be difficult for them, but they will cope. I'm sure that with more young players joining, the season will become even more exciting,” Roman said in his interview to the league's website.
