The Most Valuable Player of the Freedom QJ League B season has been named: it is Temirlan Yermek, the striker of Ontustik.
Temirlan finished the season with outstanding numbers: Across 16 matches he scored 16 goals and provided 9 assists. He took 83 shots on goal, 38 of which were on target. Throughout the season, he made 318 passes, with 218 of them (69%) reaching their intended target.
Winners of the individual awards — Most Valuable Player, Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Midfielder, and Best Forward — in all League tournaments will each receive 200,000 tenge in prize money from the League’s partner, Freedom Bank.
“The emotions are amazing. It’s a great honor to receive the MVP award. I’m grateful to my team, the coaches and everyone who supported me throughout the season. This gives me huge motivation to keep moving forward.
It was a successful and emotional season. My goal for next year is to secure my place and play for the first team.
The most memorable moment was the decisive match against the KFF Academy in Talgar. We were losing 0:2 until the 63rd minute, and the game needed to change. I decided to take responsibility: first I scored after a pass from Alikhan Ali, and ten minutes later I assisted him in return. The game ended 2:2, and a week later in Shymkent we beat them confidently — 4:0.
I plan to spend the prize money on preparation for the next season, self-development, and gifts for my family, who supported me all year.
To the younger players I want to wish luck, courage, patience and confidence. Don’t be afraid of mistakes — they help you grow. Work hard, enjoy the game and believe in yourself, and success will definitely come,” Temirlan said in his interview.
