The new football season in Kazakhstan will kick off in early spring, just a couple of months from now, and KPL clubs are already actively preparing for the upcoming competitions. Young players who previously played in the Freedom QJ League are also taking part in training camps with senior teams.

Kaisar

The Kyzylorda-based club is currently holding its second training camp, which is taking place in the UAE. Among the players who previously featured in the League and were included in Andrey Ferapontov’s squad are Temirlan Murzagaliev, Dimash Serikuly, Dinmukhamed Rustemuly, and Alimzhan Erkin. The latter joined Kaisar only recently, having spent several years at Ekibastuz prior to that. Erkin has yet to make his debut in the KPL, and the upcoming season could become his first at the top level.

Aktobe

The Red and Whites are holding their first training camp in Turkey, which will run until January 29. The coaching staff has involved several players who previously competed in the Freedom QJ League: goalkeepers Sayatkhan Kusainov and Parasat Korganbayev; defenders Khasen Arturuly and Mark Bogachev; midfielders Nurdaulet Toregali and Ayan Baidavletov; as well as forwards Miram Kikbayev and Vitaliy Laturnus.

Among them, only Baidavletov currently has experience in the top division: 14 matches, 640 minutes played, one goal, and two assists. Kikbayev, who spent last season within the Irtysh system, featured for Pavlodar’s senior team in the Kazakhstan Cup and made his debut for Aktobe in the League Cup in 2024.

Kairat

The Almaty side is actively preparing for the final matches of the UEFA Champions League group stage against Club Brugge and Arsenal. Kairat’s current training camp is taking place in Abu Dhabi and will last until January 15.

From the players who previously featured in the Freedom QJ League, head coach Rafael Urazbakhtin has called up Sherkhan Kalmurza, Danila Buch, Amirbek Bazarbayev, Mukhamedali Abish, Ismail Bekbolat, Ramazan Bagdat, and Mansur Birkurmanov. Among them, Kalmurza, Bagdat, and Bekbolat already have experience playing for the senior team.

It is also worth noting that Dastan Satpaev, Azamat Tuyakbayev, and Olzhas Baibek are missing the training camp as they continue rehabilitation after injuries.
