On August 23, the traditional Freedom QJ League All Star Game was held at the Khan Tengri Stadium in Almaty.

The selection of the best players from the League’s flagship tournament faced the youth from the academy of one of Europe’s top clubs – Atlético Madrid.

All tickets for the game, sold via Freedom Ticketon, were snapped up – a total of 3,115 spectators filled the stands.

The stadium doors opened for residents and guests of Almaty at 18:30. The evening was designed in the aesthetics of neon light and new technologies. This theme permeated every aspect of the festival, from the decoration of zones to the pre-match interactive events and performances.

Before kick-off, fans enjoyed a spectacular laser show centered around the League’s previous All Star Matches – when the opponents were the Super bol project team and the Red Star Belgrade academy. It should be noted that the QJL All Star team won both encounters, with scores of 6:1 and 2:0 respectively.

Afterwards, the crowd was addressed by KFF President Marat Omarov, Ambassador of Spain to the Republic of Kazakhstan Francisco Martínez Montes, Chairman of the Freedom QJ League Board of Trustees Timur Turlov, Head of Atlético Madrid Academy in Kazakhstan Shalkar Nurtleu, and League President Rokhus Shokh.

The national anthems of Spain and Kazakhstan were played, and the referee’s whistle signaled the start of the match. Taking the initiative from the opening minutes, the Spaniards managed to score as early as the 9th minute – Gonzalo Gross found the net. No more goals followed in the first half.

During the break, spectators enjoyed another laser performance – this time featuring a dance group.

In the second half, QJL All Star managed to equalize – in the 58th minute Maksat Abraev scored against the visitors. The fate of the clash was decided in a penalty shoot-out, where the guests from Spain proved luckier.

The Changan MVP of the Match awards went to QJL All Star goalkeeper Madiyar Toleubek, who plays for Pavlodar’s Irtysh, and Atlético midfielder Álvaro Tamargo Gómez.

After the game, the traditional afterparty took place with headliners – Central Asia DJ champion DJ PUZA and Freaky Monday founder DJ BURLYAEV.

The event was organized with the support of the League’s partners: Freedom Holding Corp., Mastercard, Changan, Astana Motors, and Citix.
