Matchweek 7 of the Freedom QJ League has concluded. Here are the most interesting moments of the weekend.
Cyber champion shines in real life
Astana handed Kaysar the biggest defeat of the current season – ten unanswered goals went past Marat Sarsenov’s side, who failed to register even a single shot on target.
The architect of the demolition was Maksat Abraev – the champion of the Freedom Media Cyber Cup. Scoring his first goal of the season in the 56th minute, the Astana forward didn't stop there – and went on to score four goals in total (a poker), adding two assists as well.
Those who had Abraev in their Fantasy QJ League squad were rewarded handsomely – Maksat earned a massive 24 points for this performance.
Astana now sits second in the table, but the three teams behind are close, meaning the goal difference gained could prove crucial.
Satenov's penalty poker
The match between Shakhter and Irtysh was full of goals – five out of seven came from the penalty spot. Shakhter midfielder Naiman Satenov was awarded four penalties – and converted them all, delivering a unique poker and securing a 4:3 win for his team.
Another highlight was a brace from Ruslan Rakhmetov, who seems to have ended his goal drought following a bright start (3+2 in Round 1) and four goalless matches.
In the U-17 tournament, Shakhter also claimed a victory thanks to a hat-trick from Kirill Ermakov, while Pavlodar’s only reply came from Ernur Sailauov.
First win for Tobol
The match in Kostanay between the two bottom-table teams – Tobol and Caspiy – ended in a win for the home side. Goals were scored by Ruslan Zhetenov and Nurmubarak Zhaksylyk.
This leaves only one team without a win (or any points at all) – the side from Aktau.
