The Best Defender of the Freedom QJ League B season has been named: the award goes to Argyn Zhumageldy of the KFF Academy team.

The 15-year-old defender played 18 matches, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist. His defensive numbers were outstanding: 260 tackles and ball recoveries, plus 125 interceptions. He also demonstrated an excellent passing accuracy — 742 out of 944 passes completed (79%). In duels, Zhumageldy won 153 out of 261 contests.

Winners of the individual awards — Most Valuable Player, Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Midfielder, and Best Forward — across all League tournaments will each receive 200,000 tenge from the League’s partner, Freedom Bank.

“It’s honestly hard to put the emotions from this award into words. I was very happy that my work was recognized — it truly motivated me.

The season overall went well. We achieved most of the goals we set, but there is still room to grow. Next season I want to take my game to a new level and show consistently strong performances.

The brightest moment? There was a tough match where we managed to turn the game around as a team and earn the win. Those emotions stayed with me.

I want to spend the prize money on useful things and buy a gift for my mom.

To the boys who will debut next year, I want to say: don’t be shy and believe in yourselves. The first season won’t be easy, but hard work, discipline and the right environment will put everything in place. Use every opportunity and don’t be afraid to show your game. Good luck!” he said in the interview.
