Assyl Pazyl from FC Astana has been named the Most Valuable Player of the first-ever girl's season in Freedom QJ League.

Having turned 15 in September, Assyl delivered an outstanding season: 19 goals and 13 assists in 14 matches. She recorded 74 shots on goal, 43 of which were on target. Assyl also completed 235 accurate passes out of 370 (64%).

Winners of the individual awards — Most Valuable Player, Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Midfielder and Best Forward — across all League tournaments will each receive 200,000 tenge in prize money from the League’s partner, Freedom Bank.

“When I saw on Instagram that I had been named the MVP of the season, honestly, I couldn’t believe it at first. I still can’t fully believe it. I was nervous, worried a lot.

This season was very productive for me, and our team finished in second place. Next year we’ll do our best to win the title — we’ll work even harder. The most memorable moment for me was the Matchweek IX game against Zhetisu, where I scored 5 goals and made 3 assists.

I want to spend the prize money on my education. We devote a lot of time to football, and sometimes there’s not enough free time to study properly. I’d like to improve my English.

I hope the next year will be full of progress and achievements for us. To reach that, we need to work hard and show strong results,”
Assyl shared after receiving the award.
