Today marks the start of the qualifying stage for the League's traditional esports tournament.
For the first time in history, Freedom QJ League Cyber Cup matches will not take place on the green pitches of EA FC, but in a rather unconventional discipline for football players – Counter-Strike 2.
This change of scenery will give the guys a welcome break from their usual environment, and the shooter's team spirit is sure to bring clubmates even closer together.
The qualifying tournament features four groups.
Group A: Zhenis, Ontustik, Irtysh, Okzhetpes, Zhaiyk, Ordabasy.
Group B: Atyrau, Khan-Tengri, Kaisar, Zhas Kyran, Aktobe.
Group C: Tobyl, Atletico, Taraz, Astana, Caspiy.
Group D: Shakhter, KFF Academy, Yelimay, Altay, Kairat.
Teams representing all four age categories (from U-15 to U-18) have been randomly drawn into groups. The group stage matches will be played in a round-robin BO1 (Best of 1) format.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the LAN stage, which will take place from June 6th to 7th.
