Here are the key moments from the latest round of the girls’ competition.
Kairat score six in Kostanay
For most of the first half at Tobyl Arena, the hosts trailed the league leaders by just one goal.
Tobyl even had a chance to equalise: in the 34th minute, the Kostanay side were awarded a penalty, but Anara Kabdykaparova sent her effort wide.
Shortly before the half-time whistle, Kairat doubled their advantage as Milena Nikolenko scored her second goal of the match. The visitors added four more after the break: Sofia Yagudina completed a brace and finished the game with 2+2 in goals and assists, Nikolenko completed her hat-trick, while Zhaniya Makhash also got on the scoresheet – and provided two assists.
For Oksana Kokhannaya’s team, it was their tenth win in 11 matches, with 66 goals scored and only seven conceded. Tobyl’s situation has become more difficult, but they remain in contention for bronze – especially considering that their rivals still have matches against the league leaders to come.
Astana keep pace, but time is running out
The capital side did their job without a slip-up, beating Kaysar 3–0 at home. Adiya Mamatraimova opened the scoring in the 39th minute, before Asyl Pazyl and Ainel Smanova added goals in the second half.
Kaysar suffered their ninth consecutive defeat and remain on just three points. To climb off the bottom of the table, the Kyzylorda side need to collect at least five points from their remaining matches against Tobyl, Irtysh and… Kairat.
Kairat (30 points) have home games against Irtysh and Shakhter remaining, as well as a trip to Kaysar. Astana (28) still have away matches in Shymkent and Karaganda and a home fixture against Aktobe.
Aktobe and Shakhter win their matches
Aktobe defeated Ordabasy 2–0 at home.
Both goals came after the break: in the 52nd minute, captain Mauluda Armat converted a penalty, before defender Nazym Kuletova made it 2–0 in the 63rd. It was a second consecutive defeat for the Shymkent side.
Shakhter, meanwhile, returned from Pavlodar with all three points after a 1–0 victory. Karaganda captain Amina Auzhanova scored the only goal of the game as early as the seventh minute. Irtysh have now lost three matches in a row and remain seventh with seven points.
Aktobe and Shakhter now share third place with 17 points. They will face each other in the next matchweek, with the season’s surprise package hosting the game. Tobyl are three points behind the pair and will look to get back into the medal race with a victory in Kyzylorda.
