Kalymzhanov’s Hat-Trick and KFF Academy’s Defeat: Highlights of Matchweek IV in Freedom QJ League B

Matchweek IV of the Freedom QJ League B has come to an end. Here are the most exciting moments from the past weekend.

KFF Academy Stumbles

The KFF Academy was unable to extend its winning streak going into the exam break – Stuart Hall’s side was stopped by Yelimay. The youth from Semey clinched the win thanks to a goal by Vadim Saibel in the 73rd minute. Notably, the KFF Academy is the only team in the Freedom QJ League whose players are two years younger than their opponents.

Ontustik Back on Top

The Academy’s loss allowed last year’s U-17 B champions, Shymkent’s Ontustik, to return to the top of the standings. The team defeated Ulytau with a dominant 5:0 scoreline and caught up with the former leaders on points. Ontustik currently leads Hall’s team due to a superior goal difference: +11 versus +9.

Shymkent’s forward Alikhan Ali, who scored a brace, now has six goals in four matches and remains among the top scorers. However, he shares that status with Okzhetpes midfielder Tamirlan Kalymzhanov.

Kalymzhanov Keeps Making the Difference

In the highest-scoring match of the week, the Kokshetau club defeated Altai 4:2 – and Tamirlan Kalimzhanov netted three of the four goals. He had already scored in the first two rounds, recording a brace and an assist in just 75 minutes of play in Matchweek II. The Matchweek III game against the KFF Academy wasn’t as successful for him – so this match against Altay became an opportunity to prove that a goalless game this season is more of an exception than the rule for Kalimzhanov.
