Makridov is the league leader in minutes played! What other records can Gleb break?

Matchweek XIII marked an important milestone for both Gleb Makridov and the Freedom QJ League. The thing is, Shakhtyor’s super-sub broke the league’s all-time record for most minutes played on the pitch.

Makridov surpassed the defensive leader of Ordabasy from the league’s first two seasons – Zhassulan Amir. The previous record holder played in 42 matches, spending a total of 3,727 minutes on the pitch.

Gleb has already made 45 appearances, though in his first year he didn’t see much playing time – unlike the following two seasons, when he became an irreplaceable leader for the Karaganda side. And now, after a hard-fought draw in Aktobe, Makridov has reached a total of 3,792 minutes played, during which he scored 17 goals and provided 10 assists.

"I'm very pleased. This shows that I play consistently and bring value to the team. I'm happy to be part of the League's history," said Gleb about his achievement.

But there are still several records in the league’s main tournament that the Miners’ midfielder could break – if things go his way.

With nine matches remaining, Makridov needs to score nine more goals to match Dastan Satpayev’s tally in the league’s main tournament – the Kairat academy graduate has found the net 26 times. If Gleb delivers six more assists, he’ll join Daniyar Tashpulatov – the tournament’s all-time top playmaker – at the top with 16 assists.

Satpayev also leads the goal+assist chart with 36 points. To surpass Dastan, Makridov needs to register 10 more goal contributions by the end of the season.

"I respect Satpayev’s accomplishments, but every record is made to be broken. I’ll try to make the most of every match, though the main thing is the team result," the leader of the Miners emphasized.

Meanwhile, Gleb has been scoring for six matchweeks in a row. He currently ranks second in Fantasy QJ League points with 99 – trailing only Kairat’s Abylay Toleukhan, who leads the standings with 116.

"Freedom QJ League made me stronger. I’ve grown both as a player and as a person. Here, I gained confidence and learned how to work for development and results," the midfielder admitted.

This year will be the Karaganda native’s last in the League – he turns 19 next January. With nine matches still to play, Gleb has plenty of time to make his legacy even more impressive.
