The opening week of League A has come to an end. Here’s a recap of the flagship tournament.
A crucial win for Kaisar
Kaisar secured a narrow victory over Tobyl in the historic 1000th match of the Freedom QJ League. The only goal was scored by Yernar Parda — his first in the flagship competition.
The support of 7,725 fans in Kyzylorda clearly gave the hosts an extra boost. Such a bright start could inspire the “wolves” to maintain momentum in the upcoming matches.
Rashidov sets the tone for the season
The KFF Academy began their debut campaign with a 2–3 loss to Zhas Kyran. Nikita Lisokhmar opened the scoring in the 16th minute, but before halftime the visitors equalized through Alan Lukanin after an assist from Ramzes Rashidov.
In the 62nd minute, Rashidov himself put his team ahead, and 15 minutes later Salim Minzhulin extended the lead. The KFF Academy managed to pull one goal back through Mansur Bolat.
This match was especially productive for Rashidov, who matched his total goal contributions from the previous two seasons combined. Will the “joker” of Zhas Kyran keep this momentum going? Time will tell.
A successful weekend for Shakhter
The Karaganda side opened the season with a confident win over Taraz. Zhanibek Zhailaubek scored in the 59th minute, and Ilya Gezik sealed the result late in the game.
Notably, all four Shakhter teams won their matches. The U-17 and U-16 sides claimed narrow victories, while the U-15 team secured a 4–1 away win.
Otarbek makes the difference in Shymkent
Ordabasy edged past Aktobe in a hard-fought match. The standout performer was debutant Adiyat Otarbek, who scored twice (22nd and 71st minutes). The visitors replied with a single goal from Rinat Beybitov.
Last season, Otarbek recorded 13 goals and 5 assists in 22 matches in the U-17 competition. Can he surpass those numbers at the flagship level?
Drama in Aktau
Caspiy narrowly lost to Astana at home in a match full of unusual moments. The visitors took the lead in the 4th minute through an own goal by Arystan Abilgaziyev, but Anuar Uzakbay equalized just four minutes later.
Before halftime, Astana were awarded a penalty, but Arsen Ispanov’s effort was saved. After the break, Kuandyk Khamidullin converted another penalty — this time successfully — to secure the win.
A dominant start for Kairat
Last season’s absolute champions Kairat kicked off the new campaign with a crushing 12–0 win over Irtysh. Most of the goals came in the first half.
Four players scored braces: Abylay Toleukhan, Daulet Orynbassar, Roman Chernomorets, and Abylay Zhilkaidar. Evgeniy Petrik, Abdullakh Bigali, and Sultanali Abduali each added one.
The most remarkable moment came in the 20th minute, when goalkeeper Kamil Gainullin scored from his own half. His powerful clearance flew all the way into the opposing net — the first time in league history that a goalkeeper has scored a goal.
Like Shakhter, Kairat won all four of their matches in the week— but did so in dominant fashion with big scorelines.
