Matchweek 10 of the Freedom QJ League was filled with drama and memorable moments. Here's what stood out.

Long-awaited win for Ordabasy

One of the biggest storylines of the round came from Shymkent’s club finally ending their four-match losing streak by beating Astana away. The capital side, meanwhile, made their medal chase significantly harder going into the final round of the first half of the season.

Astana had control early – Ruslan Valikhan opened the scoring in the 26th minute, and the hosts went into halftime with a slim lead. But Ordabasy turned things around in the second half: first, Maksim Gamayunov assisted Sultanbeybarys Abdugapparov, and ten minutes later, Gamayunov himself found the net.

The late drama didn’t stop there. Nail Mynzhasarov equalised in stoppage time, giving Astana hope – only for that to be crushed when Ali Askerbekov scored an own goal during a corner, handing Ordabasy the win.

Makridov shines again

Shakhtyor Karagandy defeated Tobol comfortably, with midfielder Gleb Makridov once again taking centre stage. He scored in the 32nd minute from an Islam Kali assist. Right after the break, Zhan Kopzhasarov briefly equalised, but Vasiliy Leontyev restored Shakhtyor’s lead in the 48th.

Makridov then added two assists – to Miras Kuat and Ilya Gezik – and Nikita Nefyodov sealed it in stoppage time. Final score: 5–1.

Makridov now has nine goal contributions in his last three games. He’s among the top three players this season by goal+assist tally – 13 points (7+6), tied with Kairat’s Daulet Orynbasar (10+3). The only one above is Ablai Toleukhan (12+6).

Second win for Caspiy

Caspiy grabbed a key win at home, scoring twice in the first half against Atyrau and holding on in the second. Shyngys Kuanishuly and Nurgazy Kusaiyn scored for the hosts, while Dinmukhamed Bagytzhan pulled one back for Atyrau with help from Ramil Zhenes – final score: 2–1.

Atyrau are now winless in four straight matches, while Caspiy moved out of the clear bottom spot and tightened the bottom-table race.

Irtysh and Zhas Kyran share points

Two top-half teams fought to a 1–1 draw in Pavlodar. Ruslan Rakhmetov opened the scoring in the 12th minute, but Zhas Kyran answered quickly with a goal from Zhangirkhan Zhankurazov in the 15th.

Irtysh now sit third with 19 points, Zhas Kyran trail by one.

Drama in Kyzylorda

Kaisar couldn’t hold on for the win over Taraz – Alibek Zharylkasynuly scored in the 59th, but Azamat Askaruly equalised deep into stoppage time.

The match saw three red cards: Berik Zhusip (Kaisar), Azizjon Berdiev and Sanjar Rakhmatilla (Taraz) will miss the next round.

Kairat crushes Aktobe

Kairat claimed their ninth win of the season with a dominant 6–0 victory over fierce rivals Aktobe. Star performers included Daulet Orynbasar (hat-trick), Alimgir Smakov (1 goal, 2 assists), and Ablai Toleukhan (3 assists).

Toleukhan had missed the previous round due to playing with Kairat-Zhastar in the First Division, but he picked up right where he left off – he’s only gone goalless once all season.
