A rescheduled Matchweek 17 fixture of the Freedom QJ League U-16 took place in Kyzylorda, where Kairat demolished Kaisar 15-0 to equal the League record for the largest winning margin.

The standout performer was Dastan Rustem, whose seven goals and two assists saw him overtake Miron Ishchenko and move to the top of the scoring charts.

Seven goals before half-time

The opening 22 minutes at Gani Muratbayev Stadium passed without a goal. However, Denis Ledenev's side then unleashed a devastating attacking onslaught, scoring seven times between the 23rd and 39th minutes.

Mansur Yerkinbek bagged a brace, Azamat Kuttymurat added another, while the star of the match, Dastan Rustem, struck four times in the 28th, 36th, 38th and 39th minutes.

Kairat added eight more unanswered goals in the second half. Rustem found the net in the 62nd, 71st and 74th minutes to take his tally to seven for the match. With two assists also to his name, Dastan was directly involved in nine of his team's 15 goals.

Kaisar Anuarbek also scored twice after the break, while Omar Zhumabek and Abylai Kaisar netted one apiece. The Wolves contributed another goal to Kairat's tally when Rakhmanberdi Yertai put the ball into his own net.

Rustem overtakes Ishchenko

Before this match, the Freedom QJ League U-16 scoring charts were led by 14-year-old Atletico midfielder Miron Ishchenko. His hat-trick against Aktobe on Matchday 21 (3-1) had taken his tally to 20 goals, putting him one ahead of Dastan Rustem.

The Kairat striker now has 26 goals in 19 appearances, moving six clear of Ishchenko. Tobyl's Balakhmet Adilbek sits third with 18 goals, with just one round remaining in the season.

Rustem's two assists also saw him draw level with Shakhter's Alikhan Karim at the top of the assists chart, with both players now on 10. In terms of combined goals and assists, Rustem leads the way with 36 goal contributions, 12 more than Ishchenko.

Before Rustem's remarkable performance, the only player in League history to score seven goals in a single match was Kairat forward Milena Nikolenko, who achieved the feat against Shakhter in September (13-0). No player in the boys' competitions had previously scored more than five goals in a match.

Interestingly, the first player to score five goals in a single match in the League's flagship competition was another Kairat academy graduate named Dastan. In 2024, Dastan Satpayev achieved the feat against the very same opponents, Kaisar, in a 10-0 victory.

A 15-goal winning margin equals a historic record

The result equalled the largest winning margin in Freedom QJ League history.

Previously, only teams in last season's girls' competition had recorded victories by a 15-goal margin, and they had done so twice. Both defeats were suffered by Zhetysu, who lost 17-2 to Astana and 16-1 to Irtysh.

No such margin had ever been recorded in the boys' competitions. Moreover, Kairat's 15-0 victory is now the biggest clean-sheet win in League history.

League standings

Kairat remain unbeaten in the U-16 competition, having recorded 19 wins and two draws in 21 matches. The Almaty side have 59 points and a goal difference of +91. They sit 11 points clear of second-placed Shakhter and had already secured the championship title before this match.

In the final round, Kairat will travel to face Taraz. Kaisar, meanwhile, will finish bottom of the table with six points and conclude their season against Aktobe.
