Azamat Shmitov, Data Analysis Specialist at the League’s Sports and Analytical Unit, has headed to Italy to continue his studies.
He has enrolled in the Data Science and Engineering Master’s programme at the Polytechnic University of Turin, which ranks among the world’s top 60 universities in this field.
During more than a year at Freedom QJ League, Azamat has delivered a number of projects, including a comprehensive analytics dashboard based on OVR fitness testing results and match data, analysis of League graduates, the distribution of players and teams into archetypes, analysis of user activity in FFM, processing data collected from fitness trackers, and automated reporting for parents.
These tools provide Sports and Analytical Unit specialists, coaches, players and their parents with faster and more effective access to the digital data collected by the League.
“I want to gain international experience in Europe and work with major analytics companies and football clubs. I believe that, having gained this experience, I will be able to make a positive contribution to the development of football in Kazakhstan!”, – Azamat told the League’s press office.
