The Most Valuable Player of the past Freedom QJ League U16 season was recognized as Temirlan Abzhapar, the midfielder of FC Kairat.
Abzhapar recorded 3 goals and 17 assists in 19 matches. With this outstanding tally, he became the tournament’s top playmaker by a huge margin. For comparison: the runner-up, Madi Kudaibergen, finished with seven assists. In total, Temirlan completed 345 accurate passes out of 579 — a 60% success rate.
As part of the League’s partnership with Freedom Bank, the winners of the individual awards — “Most Valuable Player”, “Best Goalkeeper”, “Best Defender”, “Best Midfielder”, and “Best Forward” — each receive 200,000 tenge.
“My emotions are very positive. I’m happy to win this nomination. I want to thank my team and coaches — without them, none of this would be possible. For me, the season was a success: we became League champions, and I managed to earn the MVP award.
The goals for next season are very ambitious. I’ll do everything I can to achieve them. This year we played for the first time with so many cameras and spectators. At first it was nerve-racking, but over time you learn to stay calm.
The most memorable moment of the season was when we became champions and lifted the trophy above our heads. I plan to spend the prize money on new boots for next season — to help win even more trophies.
To the debutants of next season, I wish good luck and confidence on the field. Don’t be afraid to take responsibility and take risks,” he said in his interview.
