Roman Chernomorets is one of the youngest players of the outgoing Freedom QJ League season. The Kairat forward is still only fourteen, yet he’s already one of the leaders of the U17 squad. Here’s a look at his standout performances this year.
Roman began his Freedom QJ League journey last season – at just 13, he became the youngest debutant in the League’s history, appearing in a match against Shakhtyor U17. The following season, most of his teammates born in 2008 moved up to the flagship tournament, while Chernomorets continued competing in the younger age category.
And he’s doing brilliantly. With two weeks remaining, Chernomorets is the top scorer of the Freedom QJ League U17 with 20 goals, and also leads the “goal + assist” chart with 26 points in total. Moreover, Roman ranks among the top three scorers across all five League tournaments — only Milena Nikolenko (24) and Alikhan Ali (23), whose seasons have already ended, have scored more.
His most prolific games came against Atyrau (6:0, hat-trick and assist) and Irtysh (10:1, hat-trick). Roman also recorded four braces this season.
In the upcoming week, Chernomorets and his teammates could secure the championship title ahead of schedule – Kairat currently leads Ordabasy by five points. Will the young midfielder be able to improve his individual stats in the remaining matches?
