The Kazakhstan U-17 youth national team played its second match at the international Development Cup.
Bauyrzhan Sagyndyk’s side lost 0–2 to the tournament hosts, Belarus U-17.
“I would like to thank our opponents for the game and congratulate them on the win. I also want to thank my team. It is important to understand that this is the off-season period, and the players have only just begun preparations with their clubs. They have not yet fully adapted to high-intensity matches. We are playing strong opponents at this tournament to evaluate what works in our strategy and what does not. We also have a close reserve group that we want to assess during the competition.
The boys performed well for the first 60 minutes, but towards the end we lost concentration. While pushing to equalize, we allowed dangerous counterattacks,” said Bauyrzhan Sagyndyk.
Tomorrow, Kazakhstan will face their peers from Tajikistan U-17.
It is worth noting that almost all players included in the squad have experience playing in the Freedom QJ League. In January, head coach Bauyrzhan Sagyndyk was appointed as the head of the League’s Sports and Analytics Unit, having previously worked as an expert analyst.
