The postponed Matchweek 2 games between KFF Academy and Kaisar in League A have taken place.

As a reminder, two matches in the flagship tournament and Freedom QJ League U-17 were postponed due to KFF Academy players’ participation in the international Development Cup tournament.

Freedom QJ League: a confident win for the Wolves

In the flagship tournament, the three points went to Kaisar. The Wolves had no trouble in the away match, scoring three unanswered goals. Yernar Parda registered a goal and an assist, while Madi Zhenisuly and Shyngys Zhamalbai also found the net against KFF Academy.

It is worth noting that the hosts played the final third of the match with ten men. In the 65th minute, KFF Academy defender Nikita Lisokhmar received a second yellow card for stopping a promising attack.

Kaisar and KFF Academy now both have six points. They sit ninth and tenth in the standings respectively.

Freedom QJ League U-17: own goal and a narrow home win

As for the younger age category, KFF Academy claimed victory. However, it was far from easy: the scoring was opened in the 35th minute by an own goal from Talgar side defender Amir Serikuly.

The hosts, however, corrected that mistake fairly quickly. Abzal Adilkhan equalized in the 40th minute, and the goal that eventually brought KFF Academy victory was scored by Zhangir Serik in the 83rd minute.

The main outcome of the match was the increased gap between fourth place in the standings, occupied by Zhas Kyran with 13 points, and fifth-placed Kaisar, who have seven. KFF Academy now have four points — this was the team’s first win of the season. Vitaliy Astafyev’s side sit tenth, between Tobyl and Irtysh. Astana remain bottom of the table.

The players now have a short break, with the Freedom QJ League set to return on June 13.
