On behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov presented state awards to citizens who have made a significant contribution to the country’s socio-economic development, as well as to strengthening law and order.
Timur Ruslanovich Turlov, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Freedom QJ League and Chief Executive Officer of Freedom Holding Corp., was awarded the Order of “Parasat”.
It is worth noting that Timur Turlov is not only the Chairman of the League’s Board of Trustees, but also the President of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation, the Karaganda Regional Football Association (QOFA), and the new owner of FC Shakhter Karaganda.
Under his leadership, several world chess championships have been held in Kazakhstan, and athletes have won hundreds of medals at various levels, including the historic silver medal of the women’s national team at the Chess Olympiad and Kazybek Nogerbek’s victory at the World Junior Championship.
Through the joint efforts of Freedom Holding Corp. and the Akimat of the Karaganda region, a new modern football academy, a 3,500-seat stadium, an indoor arena, and other key infrastructure facilities are being built in the region. Special attention is also given to personnel development: coaches are offered advanced training programs, including international internships and UEFA licensing opportunities.
Last season, Timur Turlov was recognized as the Best Sports Manager at the Metaratings Top Awards. He has also been nominated for this award again this year.
